What class is considered the best general farmer
Having just started playing again after a very long break, I have decided to focus time on a single char. I have every char and setup imaginable, but this time around I will choose a main and stick to it. Maybe I can actually get FoW armor this time!
What would you say is the char with the best money making abilities out there? I am kinda torn between monk or necro, as it seems as those two has the most options available to them.
Your thoughts is greatly appreciated.

The 55 Monk is geberally considered the best overall farmer in my opinion. With a Necro secondary you can use Spoil Victor, Spiteful Spirit, or just stick with SoJ.

hmmm....
well, i absolutely love my necro. i farm everywhere with him and spoil the crap out of him. however, best GENERAL farmer is probably monk. Mo/D can farm a TON of places. monks can farm UW and FoW, in hard or normal mode. they can farm... well, you name it. 55 necros are faster imo, but 55 monks have that interchangeability between second profession, primary offensive skill, and whatnot. not to mention you have divine favor. sure, monks can also farm as non-55s, but then their options are limited.
that's my piece.

Farming regular monsters is really over rated unless you want a common gold drop by the monster. killing monsters one by one will yield more drops. Necros are good in certain areas for killing monsters fast one by one but monks are more versatile in killing different areas. E/A is great boss farmer and greens sell well. there is other ways to make money like running. Most agree that running or soloing missions can get you more gold per hour than farming but u have to be experienced and you u have your ups and downs with scammers.

Monk has tons and tons of places that it can farm (55 or not) A lot of these can only be done with a monk. Plus they can farm hard mode with relative ease.

Monks and warriors seem to be the most versatile of toons, imo. Though I myself prefer my elementalist :P

monks have the most fool proof farming that everyone can do for most places.
but also warriors are very close but their builds aren't as "easy" 'but using a warrior you can solo basically if not the whole of prophecies and many other places in the other campaigns.
so Monk 55 or warrior for best general farmer

I like the E/A the best.
You can farm nearly every single boss, you can solo most areas safely, and with large mobs you can wipe most of them out quickly. Only bad thing is they can't deal with one or two stragglers, but that doesn't really matter.
Also there are too many 55 monks running around, so the places that they can farm are overfarmed and thus the items dropped there are undervalued.

I suggest an elementalist main because A. they can do the Shadow Form/Sliver Armor build - it kills bosses for greens which sell for alot of money. and B. they can run terra tank or mist form builds - builds where against straight melee monsters you take no damage. But I would also suggest after going through the game on this ele creating a 55 monk to farm select areas where your elemenalist cannot.

In my opinion:
Monks are the best
closely followed by Elementalists and Ritualists.

I think it also depends on what you prefer to farm. If you wanna farm greens then you really should go for ele, farming common drops monks are very good but ele can farm some nice things aswell. It's just a matter of personal preference. But i do suggest a caster, casters are the best farmers in the game, melee chars kill alot slower.

Warrior = Not very fast but the w/rt is one of the easiest farming builds out there and can be used for a lot of spots(mostly w/rt these days)
monk = can play every 55hp build and is very flexible with duo partners (all kinds of 55hp)
elementalist = can farm almost every boss and a lot of spaces that other classes can't. (Terratanking or Shadowform)
necro = can farm a lot with 55hp but isn't as flexible as a monk
mesmer/paragons=don't have any profitable solo builds imo
ranger=can farm a few places by trapping or using the splinterbarrage build
ritualist=can farm a lot by using rt/me, the 330 hp build or the splinterbarrage build
dervish=quite good for soloing uw/fow
assasin: can farm almost every boss and uw/fow/uw2 with the shadowform build....
As ppl already said i think this order is the best:
1.Monk
2. Elementalist and Ritualist
3. Warrior and Necromancer
4. Assasin and Ranger
5. Dervish
6. Mesmer and Paragon
I hope this helped

I'm just curious where are you farming on a 55 that can make 15k+ an hour???Cause if you do certain green farm runs such as Ghial's you can make a good 30k an hour depending on how many times you get it to drop.
Edit: And i hate correct but it's now-a-days
